From New York to Germany, Ulrich Lang, fragrance designer extraordinaire, is forever up to something good. Recently, I got my hands on a bottle of his latest release, Lightscape. And let me tell you, this is a scent to turn your nose up at — in full attention! Nominated for the Duftstars, Lightscape explores the interplay between the bold freshness of galbanum and Sicilian lemon against the delicate refinement of violet leaves.

This amazing fragrance can be worn by both men and women. In fact, my hubby and I have been fighting over it lately. It's citrusy, yet warm and settles beautifully. Top notes include: galbanum, lemon and violet leaves. Middle notes include: iris, rose, violet flower, cyclamen and cedarwood. And the base notes of musk, woods and creamy tonka bean add another layer of comforting warmth that is both subtle and sensuous.

While snow is predicted this evening (and I seriously want it to happen), my forecasts for spring 2013 unveil, bit by bit. Starting with lips!

Bold lips will continue to take center stage this upcoming season. Which means, there will be plenty of room for experimentation. Fashion designers Giles and Holly Fulton showed matte fuchsia lips on the runway. Fulton even added orange for a punchy pout.

While spring doesn't typically conjure up visions of oxblood, designers Prabal Gurung and Jason Wu were digging the deep, mysterious lip for the season.

As for gloss — move over! It's all about the matte mouth.
