This week, I am scheduled for a hair cut. And boy, do I need one! My hair has never been longer. It's a couple of inches beyond my bra strap.

While it's been exciting to see it grow, I am desperate for a new do. If I had the guts to go short, this is what I would do. How chic is this?

Alas, I don't. More importantly, everyone I have asked 'how short do I go?' has cautioned against taking much length off at all. Oh man! All I need is 50% agreement and I'd cut at least 5 inches off. My hair would still be past my shoulders.

I guess I should take baby steps. Edward, if you have any ideas, I am open.

'Tis the season to be changing!! Cut it off. It's amazing how inspiring it can
be to make a change like this. I've been a stylist for 16 years and have cut it
and grown it hundred times over. It's super liberating and your clients will
appreciate your openness to change. Good luck!

It will look phenomenal on you. Clothes even look better with short hair. Plus
this one is super versatile, you can scrunch it to get that look shown here or
flat iron (which is so easy with short hair) and you will have a bob.

I had about 6 inches off longest layer and 10-12 off shortest- wish I had worn
my hair down to show you when I saw youat HT. You are beautiful and can pull off
any length- just gigot it!!

A couple of years :0 I am going to do something new ... just haven't figured it
out yet. I have two days ... on the hunt!

1/ you are gorgeous, and do not need to be afraid of trying new haircuts.
2/
It's *only* hair. If you don't like it, sweep it back, and in a few months
you'll be back to something that you wind liveable.
Catherine     |2011-05-22 11:01:38
Ha! You are too kind. I have been telling myself it's only hair for a month.
It's just so funny how no one else wants me to touch it. What gives?

‎3/ I went short, and NEVER went back. It's an amazing freeing feeling !
4/ If
you love it -- do it. You don't let things stop you -- why let a haircut stop
you!! YOU HAVE GUTS. DO IT DO IT.
Catherine     |2011-05-22 11:03:48
Wow ... what to do now! Okay, I am culling through my tear sheets and going to
come up with a new do!! Thank you, Sonya!!

You're welcome. I'm a huge shorter hair advocate. I see no reason to fear the
shears !
