ckflatformAmongst the super high-heeled shoes you'll see this spring, here's a refreshing take on the platform. Better known as the flatform, your feet will be happy campers coming off of the winter months, sliding into these.

Calvin Klein paired multiple versions of this sandal with his spring 2010 collection at fashion week. Good luck getting your hands on a pair, though. They are a hot commodity.

Personally, I like the metallic T-strap version shown here best, compared to some of the more 'orthopedic' looking ones. This could well be a welcome addition to my 'all high heel' shoe collection.

On March 7, Target will get a fresh perspective on fashion, thanks to parisian designer Jean Paul Gaultier. Anticipating this collection to be more warmly received than Rodarte for Target (which you couldn't pay me to wear), prices will range from $17.99 to $199. The collection includes tattoo leggings and tops, swimsuit separates, trench coat, dresses and leather jackets, to name a few. There is one thing to be sure of, another frenzy is upon us. For those of you braving the stores on March 7th, I wish you luck. Otherwise, have fun ordering online from Target.

Will you be a part of the Jean Paul Gaultier craze?

On Friday, February 6th, a local charity fashion show was held at the Scott Jaguar Showroom in Charlotte, NC. Designer Blaine Degannes, of Rain Anthology, provided a preview of his Spring 2010 collection. Cynthia Albert Grier, Blaine Degannes and JSWMediagroup collaborated on the evening of fashion and luxury while the audience enjoyed taking it all in, with champagne and desserts, to boot. A portion of the clothing sales benefited Purple Passion 4 Alzheimer’s, a non-profit organization to help advance the research and treatment of Alzheimer's disease. Below, are pictures of my favorite pieces from the Feminine Not Fragile event.

When it came to the runway, no one created more drama than Mr. Alexander McQueen. His electrifying style was infectious (and intoxicating). He took fashion for what it should always be — expressive, creative and sometimes, completely over the top! So, it is with an especially heavy heart that I bid farewell to one of my favorite designers.

Lee Alexander McQueen was found dead today, at the age of 40, in his London home. Just as his designs had a tendency toward the dramatic, so to did his death (suicide by hanging). It's too soon to say why such a talented person would end their life. Our thoughts and prayers are with the McQueen family at this tragic time.

Milliner Philip Treacy, who created hats for the designer’s shows, shares:
In a world where every man and his dog is a designer, Alexander McQueen was the real deal. His talent was supersonic.

I couldn't agree more.

I love the idea of creating a collection of shoes to fit most women's lifestyles. Brilliant, really. Tamara Mellon, President and co-founder of Jimmy Choo designer shoes, explains how the concept of Choo 24:7 came to be in this video.
