Fashion Week

The last two days of fashion week were exciting — but not how you think. Marc Jacobs was not the one to watch. Can you guess who was? And check out the BEST DRESS of the entire week, right here!

Designer mentions: Michael Kors, Nanette Lepore, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Reed Krakoff, Anna Sui, Isaac Mizrahi, Marc Jacobs and Dennis Basso.

It just keeps getting better! Day 5 and 6 brought major style goodness and inspiration for spring 2012. I even have behind-the-scenes photos from the Oscar de la Renta show, featuring model Marilia, whom I worked with in April for the Art of Style event.

Designer mentions: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Rachel Zoe, Rodarte, Kelly Wearstler, Cynthia Steffe, Carolina Herrera, Oscar de la Renta and Vera Wang.

On day 3 and 4 of New York Fashion Week, the designers brought their 'A' game, with a mix of feminine + strong, and perhaps a little funky. I am introducing a few emerging themes, as well, so check out the video recap!

Designer mentions: Prabal Gurung, Alexander Wang, Vivienne Tam, Lela Rose, ADAM, Derek Lam, Monique Lhuillier, Diane von Furstenberg, L.A.M.B and Zac Pozen.

I have to say, this is the most excited I've been over Day 1 and 2 coverage for Fashion Week ... ever. I credit Peter Som and 10 Crosby Derek Lam for that. We have a lot to look forward to this upcoming spring 2012 — pattern, texture, color! Get your sneak peek into spring fashion now.

Designer Mentions: BCBG Max Azria, Tadashi Shoji, Rebecca Taylor, Peter Som, The Row, Jason Wu, Rag & Bone, Billy Reid, Cynthia Rowley and 10 Crosby Derek Lam.

fno2011It's hard enough for me to believe that September has already arrived, let alone that Fashion Week is here. Where, oh where, has the time gone?

This morning, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week kicked off in New York City for the spring 2012 season. This week, thousands of fashion insiders will gather to see the newest collections of over 99 designers. You can catch the fashion recaps here, so stay tuned!

With the big Fashion's Night Out celebration this evening, you can support your local retailers and our economy, from anywhere around the globe. Right here in Charlotte, you can catch the fashion action starting at 6pm at the METROPOLITAN, where 23 boutiques will take over the streets, to Neiman Marcus to the NC Music Factory.

So get excited and support, support, support.
