Fashion Week

There is no doubt, that up to this point in the fashion week mix, Dolce & Gabbana stole the show. Even though there are still a few more shows to see in Paris, I'm calling it now. Unbelievably regal detail. Drool worthy and jaw dropping good. I can barely stand it! I want to touch every piece (and wear it, of course).

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana used the golden mosaics of Sicily's Cathedral of Monreale as a starting point for this collection. Said to be a romanticized view of the Catholic Church, the line explores all angles, from innocence to scandal.

And oh, how I love those crosses! My vintage Chanel cross necklace might need a new companion.

Clover Canyon, you had me at the shoes. What girl wouldn't want to wear those sparkly heels, not to mention every article of clothing in your FW13 line? Superb! And the girls on point — beautiful from head to toe.

As I prepare my synopsis of New York Fashion Week for Spring 2013, the shoes must come first. Specifically, the boot variations.

Good gracious am I in love. These cut out boots are phenomenal! So many designers on the same page, too. There were times I couldn't take my eyes off the footwear for the clothes. As for these three designers — Alexander Wang, Proenza Schouler and Altuzarra, respectively — their collections were as exciting as their shoes.

Today, I came super close to buying Alexander Wang's black cut out boots for next spring. However, I am holding out for my favorites from Altuzarra! Beyond amazing.

Bootcamp, baby! And I'm not talking about your typical workout. This is all about Mercedes -Benz Fashion Week starting this Thursday in New York.

Thanks to Rebecca Minkoff, you can determine if you have what it takes to handle fashion week. Can you tweet fast enough? Strut hard enough? Pose perfectly in the line of fire of Tommy Ton and Billy Farrell? As we countdown to fashion week for spring 2013, The Man Repeller, Hilary Rhoda and Rebecca Minkoff are put to the test in the ultimate fashion battle.

I have to admit, Rachel Zoe is making an impact on the runway (her first official collection to hit the proverbial runway). Her fall 2012 collection is an expression of the obtainable. It has the wow factor, of course. However, it has the wearable factor, as well, which is even more important. For some reason, I gravitate toward her black and white selections. Love.

Anna Sui stays true to her signature style with color and print. Super fun, with many ensembles extending to many an audience. But the coup de grâce goes to Rag & Bone. Limiting my selections, I still ended up with seven that I couldn't bare to part with. Every single piece that strutted down the runway resonates. Style, cut, color, pattern and layering effect. This collection is worth the investment.

Stay tuned for my final thoughts on Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week - New York and what to expect for the season (or two) ahead!
