Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim featured collections from L*Space by Monica Wise, Tibi, Caffé Swimwear, Marysia Swim, Crystal Jin, ANK by Mirla Sabino, True Religion Swimwear, Red Carter, Aqua di Lara, Tori Praver Swimwear, Mara Hoffman, Ed Hardy Swimwear, White Sands Australia, Poko Pano, Xtra Life Lycra®, Vitamin A, Cia.Marítima, Luli Fama and V Del Sol. What was the common thread for the 2010 cruise collections? Predominantly vivid colors and loud patterns. 
A key element to success in the current market conditions is the ability for designers to create fresh and inspiring collections. One of the biggest influences this season was lingerie. You could definitely see it in the straps. While one-piece bathing suits made their mark on the beaches and nearby pools for SS09, you'll see more two-piece suits in 2010, in addition to stretchy fabrics that contour the body.
Sexy cutouts, small scale ruffles and Grecian draping were all over the runway. A mix of colors (bright), fabrics (mesh and sheer making a comeback) and prints (exotic) with a modern spin will enter onto the scene in time for resort season 2010.
One of the most anticipated collections came from Simone and Nicky Zimmermann, whose sales increased 100% last year, reaching $25 million in 2008 for both its contemporary and swim collections, 30 percent of which was U.S. business.
