D'Olives: Cream d'Olives
This is one of those moisturizers that I will always have on hand from Fall to Spring. Not that I haven't reached for it over the summer, because there have been times that my retinoid led to flakey skin. Cream d'Olives contains olive leaf extract, which is a powerful anti-oxidant, in addition to pea extract, which protects elastic tissue. And quite simply, it moisturizes beautifully! B+.
Blissliving Home: Crisanta Pillow
The Crisanta Pillow is one of Blissliving Home's signature pillows. And I absolutely love it! It makes my bed warm and sunny and adds a touch of style to the whole room. Its striking finishing touches provides a bit of luxury, too. Definitely an A!
FiveHumans: Disease Tees
I love a good T-shirt, but even better when I have the opportunity to raise awareness and help support to a cause. Love the color (blue), love the soft cotton and quality, and love the fit. Nothing less than an A.
Lord & Berry: Raincoat Protecting Waterproof Mascara
This is a nice waterproof mascara that lengthens lashes and has fairly good staying power. It washes off easily, too. It can be a little smudgy in the pool, though. B
Become: Skin Care Line
A great skin care line with great ingredients - and smells so nice, too. The packaging is beautiful and the results are fantastic. My favorite is the Spray Toner (containing Aloe Leaf Juice and DMAE). It's unlike anything else I have ever tried. It refreshes skin, yet firms it right up. I use it both morning and night and sometimes during the day to wake up my skin! This gets a A. The Foaming Cleanser (containing Fruit Extracts and Australian Daisy to regenerate skin) smells great and works efficiently. B+. The Hydrating Serum contains Sodium Hyaluronate to bring serious hydration to skin - and it does just that. B+. The Day Cream (containing Matrixyl 3000, a pro-collagen and pro-elastin peptide blend that smooths and firms the skin) is moisturizing without feeling heavy. Another B+!
Noir: Liquid Liner
Wow - a very easy-to-apply black liquid liner in a sleek container that stays put all day. I took this to Fashion Week in NYC. I applied it in the morning and threw it in my bag for evening re-application. But guess what? I never had to reapply. Makes a great cat eye, too. What more can I say - thank you Caroline for your genius efforts behind this liner. An A!
Heidi Klum: In An Instant Skin Care System
This system contains a foaming cleanser, a firming serum, a wrinkle smoother, a tinted moisturizer (with SPF 15 - but not true sun protection in my book, plus the color is odd), an eye treatment and a warming scrub. The 30-day system is $29.95. I will say that the products do instantly plump your skin (not dramatically, albeit), but with no long-term benefit. I am not impressed with the ingredients - there is more caffeine than quality antioxidants and hydrators. This gets a C.
LUSH: Up You Gets emotibomb and The Marilyn Hair Treatment Moisturizer
The emotibomb is a cool concept - you put this product at the bottom of the shower and when the water hits it, it begins to dissolve and fill the shower with an invigorating scent. Up You Gets is fruity and zingy, containing grapefruit and lemon oils. It's yummy - but I wish it could last longer - B! The Marilyn Hair Treatment Moisturizer is made with chamomile, lemon and saffron to brighten blonde hair. I love that it's fresh and organic, however, it didn't make my hair as soft and hydrated as I had hoped. However, not everyone wants less volume like me. This gets a B.
TOVA: Skin Smoothing Signature Body Balm
This body balm totally rocks if you want sexy, shimmery, hydrated skin. It has a light, fresh scent (top notes: crisp citrus and rare bergamot) and leaves this great sheen on your skin. And it contains shea butter and avocado oils. It's a must have for any occasion where your shoulders and décolleté are bared. An A.
Dr. LeWinn's: Moisturizing Sun Defense Natural Sunscreen
I am all about good sun protection and this definitely falls into my elite category. It contains 19% transparent zinc oxide is chemical-free. Not only does it provide high skin protection from harmful UVA and UVB rays, it's also moisturizing (contains Aloe Vera). Definitely an A!
BCBGirls Shoes: SCENT Sling Back Heels
First off, this shoe is now 50% off! Second, it's stylish (edgy elegance) and goes with so many things in my wardrobe from dress pants and jeans to my long, black stretch cuffed shorts. Love the 4 inch heel, however, without a platform (that I have so grown accustom to), the incline can wear on you. B+
