I have always loved sheer fabrics, so something sheer often appears in my seasonal must haves. However, for spring '10, sheerness is brought to a new level with stylish tanks.Designer VPL has several tops that are hip and full of attitude. Like this accordion swag sheer cotton tank. The criss-cross detail gives it edge. Of course, I love it paired with white jeans (year round, I might add ... layer a long-sleeve tee under the tank in the fall).
However, it's versatile enough to go with short shorts, straight-leg bermuda shorts, silk cargos or a pencil skirt.My favorite VPL sheer top of the season is the rip cord tunic. The sheer ribbed jersey scoopneck racer-back tank has contrasting trim and double rip cord detail at the side. Wear it cinched for a shorter length or leave it loose.
In one of the season's hottest neutrals, both come in gray. This allows for soft looks via monochromatic pairings, or bold looks, adding a splash of brightness in color.
Those brave enough may consider skipping the camisole. However, I recommend the layered look!
