You are heading off to the beach for a week. It's April. The weather can go either way. You're not sure what to pack. You will be enjoying early morning strolls or yoga, beach by day and dinners out by night. If you are staying 7 or more days, here's a checklist to ensure you have a multitude of stylish options:
  • 2 pairs of jeans
  • 2 jackets
  • 1 dress
  • 1 tunic
  • 5-6 tops
  • 1 clutch
  • 1 handbag
  • 2 scarves
  • 4 pairs of shoes (3 heels, 1 flat)
  • Jewelry: 4 necklaces, 4 colorful cuff bracelets, 1 leather cuff, 1 metal cuff, 1 set of dainty bangles, diamond stud earrings and gold hoops
  • Beachwear: bathing suit, cover up, hat, sunglasses, flip-flops, sunscreen
  • Yoga gear: yoga pants, tank, sweatshirt, yoga mat (unless you are a beach yogi)
april-beach-packing However, let's say you are heading off to the beach to get away from it all, with no plans to socialize. You can be a hermit and still look stylish. If you have a washer and dryer handy, limit your items to these:
  • 2 pairs of jeans
  • 1 jacket
  • 4 tops
  • 1 handbag
  • 1 scarf
  • 1 pair of shoes, though you will be living in your flip-flops
  • Jewelry: 1 necklace, 1 colorful cuff bracelet that makes you smile, diamond stud earrings
  • Beachwear: bathing suit, cover up, hat, sunglasses, flip-flops, sunscreen
  • Yoga gear: yoga pants, tank, sweatshirt, yoga mat
Undergarments and skin care/beauty items go without saying. My recommendation for your cosmetics bag for both types of vacations would be: cleanser, serum, moisturizer, SPF, bronzer, matte neutral eye base, black liquid eyeliner (for night) and black mascara. You will be all aglow, so revel in your beauty!

Whichever vacation suits you, be sure to pack lots of tea, books, magazines and wine. And turn off your cell phone.
