halstonheritageholidaydressThe holidays are upon us. Whatever will you wear? One thing is for certain, you must ring in the holidays in style. That means looking great for all of your holiday events and parties.

Is it just me, or do the holidays creep up more quickly each year? Even the parties begin sooner. It seems as soon as you’ve finished your Thanksgiving meal you are stressing over what to wear to your upcoming soirees. No need to stress. With proper planning, anything can be accomplished.

When coordinating holiday outfits with my clients, the first thing we do is strategize. It’s important to take the host or hostess’ style into consideration. Is he or she formal or casual in nature? Who will be in attendance? Both of these factors will determine what you wear. In addition, it will drive opportunities for repeat items (especially if you have 6+ holiday events on your calendar).

Party dresses are always easy, since they can stand on their own. It doesn’t take much to accessorize, though it takes the right pieces to make an impact. This black bead embellished jersey dress above is super fun and flirty. It calls for bare legs with phenomenal shoes! Consider going high contrast with your handbag and coat. If you don’t have a fur or faux fur, grab a wrap. Nothing ruins an outfit more than the wrong outerwear ... so skip it if it’s not perfect. Bring in a little color through jewelry (bracelets or rings). However, I do appreciate the drama in black sparkly earrings!

I'm digging neutral colors with major detail this season, as in these two stunners. This cream sequins shift and this embellished bronze crinkled silk blend dress will more than make a statement when you walk through the door. In fact, no one will be able to take their eyes off of you. And these tights in cream and black — get out!

While a dress is a fabulous option, don't underestimate the power of appeal with skirts and shorts. Stay tuned for more haute holiday style!
